It is expected that all students will participate – if they can’t due to a prior commitment, they MUST fill out the “Chorus Event Conflict Form” on ehschorus.com under the Forms tab. The choir students will divide into teams and enter the Edison Community asking for donations for the choral department at Edison HS. Last year, we raised over $7,000 and we expect to do the same. With an increase in students, we will need additional DRIVERS for this event. Please consider giving of your time and energy to support our program. We will need a total of 18 morning drivers (8:30am-1pm) and ideally 7 afternoon drivers (1:30-3:30pm)! If you cannot drive, please consider donating breakfast or lunch items. Breakfast and a pizza lunch will be provided to all participating students and parents! SIGN-UP TO HELP HERE: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0c48aeab2ca6fa7-tagday1

To our students and parents - Update January 8

Dear Parents and Students

I have been hearing from a number of you this morning and have been working on the best solution to the loss of our class time and dress rehearsal today. I know this has been a challenging and disappointing week as we lost our rehearsals during and after school today, our after school rehearsal on Tuesday, and lost Eagle time and had shortened classes yesterday.

In consultation with the administration and other staff, I have decided that we will move forward and present Night on Broadway tomorrow evening. Rescheduling the performance would be difficult with our very full school calendar, our need to move forward and be prepared for District Performance Assessment, and many other reasons. To make up for some of the time we have lost, we will have rehearsal immediately after school tomorrow. Our new schedule is as follows:

Friday, January 9

2:30 pm – Rehearsal in auditorium

6:00 pm – Pizza dinner provided by EHS Choral Guild

6:30 pm – Final warm-up and rehearsal of “For Good” with Mrs. Henderson

7:00 pm – Night on Broadway Performance

Many of our students have worked very hard for the past 6 weeks preparing for this show. We have a wonderful group of students and I am very proud and honored to be associated with them – with you! I know that we all wish we had more time to prepare, but this is a great opportunity for us to pull together and triumph in the face of adversity. We are all learning important life lessons about perseverance and doing our best with what we have that will help us as we face future professional and educational challenges.

Students, please take advantage of the rehearsal audio and video that has been posted on www.ehschorus.com for the past month. Do everything you can to be personally prepared for your performance tomorrow. Come to rehearsal on time and in costume tomorrow after school and be prepared to be very focused and quiet. I appreciate you and I know together we can do this!

Kimberly Dawson

Acting Choral Director

Thomas A. Edison High School

Wednesday, January 7 - 2:30-4:00 pm - All solos and small ensembles

The 2014-2015 Chorus Call Back List (Posted 4/12)

**IMPORTANT NOTE:  I am only asking the people I need to hear a second time to attend the call back.  If your name is not on the list, it means I feel familiar enough with your voice and ability to place you in the appropriate chorus without hearing you again.  Some people who are not on this list will still be placed in an advanced chorus.

If your name appears on the list, please learn "Cantate Domino" (music and recordings can be found here) and attend the Call Back for chorus on Monday, April 21st.  Boys will sing from 6:30 - 7:05 pm, and girls will sing from 6:55 - 8:15 pm.

Please only attend the Call Back if you intend to sign up for chorus next year.

If you do not attend the Call Back, I will assume you are not interested in singing in an advanced chorus.

The list of people being called back can be viewed here.

EHS students can purchase a ticket in many ways - buy one from any current chorus student, buy one from Mrs. Henderson after school in the choral office, or buy one at lunch.  Tickets will also be sold at the door for $5.  8th graders can obtain tickets from their chorus teachers, or buy one at the door.
